Although my son is just 8, he loves the I-CY. Mainly because he loves music, it's electronic, dances and has lots of flashy lights. So far so good. It hasn't broken, fairly durable, but runs out of batteries easily. One of them broke. The strap came unstitched after 40 days. My kids love these, but you might want to consider purchasing from somewhere with a 90 day return policy, otherwise you may ending up dealing with the manufacturer. Having said that, I will tell you that they are super cool, and my boys all love them. They are big, there is only one per box, which makes them expensive, and they require batteries. They work okay for my 3-7 year olds. They are easy to use, and pretty good quality, compared to my other kids toys like GI Joe and Transformers. As soon as you turn the game on it greets you and shows you a cute little clip of different Pokemon go by! When you use it for the first time, it asks you whether you want to be Ash (a boy trainer) or May (a girl trainer). Turning it off and back on after that, it gives you the choice to change trainers if you want.
After that is taken care of you will be taken to the Main Menu, where you choose what you want to do with your Pokedex. The Pokedex even speaks to you, reading each name for you! Modes are: Scan Mode, Index Mode, Game Mode, Info Mode, and Volume Settings.
In Scan Mode you search an area for Pokemon to catch! Moving the cursor around and pressing the A button to search. A few beeps here and there and suddenly you've got a Pokemon in front of you! Then you have to catch it by choosing one of three rocks. If you pick the right one then the Pokemon is yours! The more rare the Pokemon the more points you get.
In Index Mode you can go through your Pokedex and get information on the Pokemon you have seen or caught. It includes: How many you have caught, the height (and it shows you on a scale compared to a real person), the weight (also compared to a real person, but I don't understand it), and the Evolutions of that Pokemon (the voice tells you the levels of the Pokemon's evolution also).
In Game Mode you can play: Who's that Pokemon (as seen on the TV show), What Evolution level (a little harder, for advanced players), What Type Pokemon, and Who Has The Advantage. All of the games are played with multiple choices and give you points towards your level!
In Info Mode it tells you your game stats! These include: Your level as a trainer, how many points you have, the number of NEW Pokemon as well as the TOTAL number of Pokemon you've found, and your favorites list, which you can edit.
The Volume Settings are very easy to figure out, and you may want to turn it down, because the default setting is kind of loud. If your child (or you!) wants to play this thing non-stop the talking and beeping will get on someones nerves eventually, trust me. Someone else said that the volume resets itself after you turn it off? Well that did not happen to me, I think it is because they let the game turn itself off instead of turning it off manually.
Finally, closing the flap will not turn off the game, but not using it for a minute will. The other way to turn the game off is to hold the B button for five seconds, as described in the instruction manual. This is a surprisingly fun game to play with young kids! It's easy for even kids three or four years old to understand, and it's always entertaining and fun. My only complaint is that the jewelry pieces are extremely flimsy and break easily. I think all of the earrings in our game are broken now, but we can still play by holding them or putting them in front of us. I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this bake-wear outfit. My daughter is 6, and it fits her perfectly and she looks so adorable in it. The colors are bright, the material durable and the pot pad and mitt work just fine. The wooden spoon is more decoration than actual functionality, but it looks great in the apron pocket. I got this for christmas 2009 and it's a LOT of fun
it's good for wars with my dad, and it comes with 2 of these little cardboard targets with stands that you can shoot at when nobody's atacking you
the targets also fly backwards when you shoot them because the gun is high powered
I like the lazer lights that come on the gun
But, I recomend getting more darts
It only comes with enough to fill each gun (3 darts per gun)

If you enjoy Scene It or Trivial Pursuit, this one's worth the $20 or so that you'll spend. Many of the reviews say that it was too difficult, but I disagree. I've had several groups of people come over to play, & it got pretty competitive! The difficulty level seemed right on.

The great thing about this game is this: Even if you're losing, you're having a good time laughing at the sketches. The bad thing: My friends & I have enjoyed it so much that we've run out of new questions.

Overall I really love this product. I even had a Baby Alive doll myself when they first came out in the seventies. They are much nicer now. The only reason I would not give this item great ratings accross the board is because buying the food can get really expensive. The doll is really fun to play with so kids like to feed it several times a day. That can get really pricey. I know some people use food coloring and water as a substitute but that does not have the baby food consistency that the kids love. The best recipe I have found so far uses a health food item. I own a few Trivial Pursuit games and I think they are pretty hard, so I was hesitant about getting this version even though it's a kids edition. My step-children found it a garage sale for only $[...] in mint condition, however, so we gave it a shot. Everyone loved it! The board and pieces are set up like the traditional Trivial Pursuit games with one notable exception - the questions are multiple choice. This really helps the kids and even the adults. I was able to figure out the answers to most questions even though I haven't watched any of the shows referenced (except SpongeBob). This is the best two pack from the series so far! Beachhead is basically the same except he comes with some groundbreaking accessories for the 25th Anniv. line. Beachhead has a great satchel with a removeable magazine, a maskless head (Terrific!), and a pull-down mask piece. Mainframe is great as well. He doesn't quite look like he did in the cartoon, but he is still a fantastic figure. Mainframe comes with an awesome portable computer, a sweet smg, and a remote/radio. Overall, this is my favorite two-pack set and I would highly, highly recommend this product!
