Well, this is my first Amazon review, but I truly was inspired by how much fun we had with this game. We have two boys, ages 9 and 11 and we played the game for the first time today. Each turn is a new game...from playing squares to knowing the basic rule of construction...we had a blast. If your children love Cub Scouts, the great outdoors, or studying the world around them, they'll enjoy this game. But don't get too comfortable, this game requires actual movement!

My kids (8 and 15) and I don't know the show. So I judge purely from my first time experience. We played the game with both children. I was excited in the beginning as my little one showed the interest in learning. But then the old one got bored and the little one was confused and frustrated. As much as I like the idea of educational game I was disappointed in a quality of this product. I completely agree with other reviewers that the rules made unnecessary complicated. We had to change them almost from the start. But the worst part is that many questions DO NOT belong to the grades groups they are in and there are even mistakes in answers.

Here are few examples from 1st grade group:
Q.: "True or False? An acute triangle has 3 angles that add up to less then 90 degrees."
A.: "True"

What? Are you kidding me? What kind of math is it? I thought it is always 180. And where did you see the geometry in the 1st grade?

Q.: True or False. President Abraham Lincoln made the Louisiana Purchase.
A.: False. It was Thomas Jefferson.

Excuse me? Is this 1st grade or 5th grade question?
Q.: If a DVD cost 12 dollars and 99 cents including tax, how much money you will get back if you pay for it with 15 dollars?

From what I know in average school in US they learn that kind of problem only in 2nd grade and dealing only with whole dollars or coins.
There are number of geography questions for all grades. The funny part is that there is no subject "Geography" in American school.

If you really want to strain your eyes to play this game then that is your business. There is no reason to manufacture a hand-held game in the 21st century without a backlight.
The store that sells them got so many returns they pulled them off the shelves. I called Hasbro and they even admitted that they were "A little ashamed of it." I was told they were going to release a back-lit game sometime in 2011. So it's best to wait until they catch up on their technology.

I had this game as a child & always loved playing it, often playing by myself using a timer & trying to beat my best time. Living out in the middle of nowhere, there wasn't a lot to do, and being the youngest of five children, I didn't have many kids my age to play with anyways. My mom often played games with me though, because she was stuck in the boonies, too! You learn to have fun doing the simplest of things, and this game is one of those things. Although, my recollection is that the old game only had the suspenders, not the cardboard 'backboard'. I'm guessing that was probably added by the makers to avoid eye injuries, etc. when the ants go flying. My recollection may be wrong, though. The price on Amazon seems a high. I just bought it Toys R Us for $[...], on sale. It think the regular price was only $[...]. I'm hoping we'll have fun playing it at Christmas when younger kids are visiting, because it'll be a while before I can play it with my 3 month old grandson! I think I'll go back to Toys R Us and get "Don't spill the beans". That was another one of my favorites, again, sometimes playing it alone! Bottom line is Ants in the Pants is an inexpensive way to have fun. It's not very educational, unless you consider the part of teaching the child patience, because it takes a bit to get the hang of it. And it does teach hand/eye coordination, I guess. I purchased this for two grandsons and they love to play with it. I am going to toss my older version of Operation and purchase one to keep at our home for when any of the grandchildren come over. My 8 year old daughter loves this game. We've only had it for 2 days and we've played it like 10 times. I had this game growing up and loved it too. (Not the Hannah Montana version of course). She's able to set it up by herself and it only takes a couple minutes. It's not that complicated. I would recommend this game. Great game for young girls. Pogo players will love this product. The screen is a little difficult to read, at the wrong angle, but I've seen few hand held games, of this nature, that aren't!
It's a great buy if you love Pogo Tri-Peaks Solitaire. The ability to earn tokens off line and then upload them to your Pogo account is a real plus for Pogo fans.

No surprises - this game is simply the familiar Scrabble, but with Spanish characters added. It's great exercise for prodding your mind to find Spanish words. This past Thanksgiving, it was shared by one adult fluent in Spanish plus one adult, one teenager and a nine year old who were learning Spanish. I picked this up for my 5 year old for Christmas. It *would* have been a cute idea, however, the car doesn't fit the track right. After about 10 minutes, any adult is ready to pulverize Mr Monopoly after being driven nuts by his "oops! You went too far - go back three spaces!" The car doesn't register the spaces correctly - the bumps in the tracks sometimes count as spaces, which would be okay...whatever, but the most annoying thing is when you're moving along many spaces and NONE of them are registering. Sometimes I just got disgusted and picked up the car and pressed the bottom sensors until he finally shut up. I'm surprised that they would actually design this game and then not have the car fit the track correctly. He was sort of above the piece of track he is supposed to rest solidly on. Has many pieces and set-up takes a long time. By the time it was set-up the kids had left to do something else. Keeps coming apart and takes a large area to play. We ended up taping some of it together. It was ok to play after that, but would have put something else on my kids wish list if i had realized the way it was. This is a great toy with two draw backs........

#1 There is no volume adjustment for the music. If there is, I wish someone would point out to me where I could find it. It is LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#2 The balls don't stay in the tray at the top when the balls pop out. They go all over the place. So, I guess that's what they mean by "Busy" Ball Popper. Our daughter is busy chasing the balls all over the place....

This game is a blast to play for all ages! Toddlers can play it all day but the repetition can get to anyone older. This game is very easy to set up and play. Games go quickly and can be played in five minutes or less. It leads to much giggling as the ducks quack their way around.

The object of the game is to be the first player to collect all three ducks in your chosen color as they go around and around. It requires three C batteries to work and be warned that the ducks quack the entire time which can grate on the parents but kids love it! My kids especially loved the sound of distorted quacking as the batteries wore down.

This game is very easy to play (we started at age 2) and helped them with their colors, simple counting and memory. My kids are older now and still drag this game out on occasion - they won't let me donate it it to their younger cousins - so it was well worth the pricetag.

We love battleship, and we travel quite frequently, so we thought this would be great, but it's sort of hard to play. You are really close to each other. It the game is slightly elevated it isn't a problem, but if it's on a table between you, you can see right over at the other person's board. I was hoping this would replace our at home version, and be a fun travel, but we will still play our at home version while at home, as we can sit further apart.

I was looking for extra bullets for the N-Strike Recon CS-6 that my boyfriend had won at a Yankee Swap. I thought the suction darts would be extra fun, and it says right in the description that it fit the gun he has. WRONG! They jammed & wouldn't fire. Not a huge deal, since I returned them with no hassle, but then the fun of opening & playing with a gift right away was gone, which was a bummer.

This High School Musical version of Twister is difficult. My kids who are 10,8 & 5 thought it was too tough for them. They described it as having to do cheerleader moves and it went way to fast. I asked them if they played the music from the movie and they said they never heard any of the songs. They were very disappointed. This game is played with two people on two different mats. My daughter, son, and I have been playing this game every evening since we got it. They love it. The pegs are a little small, but the game overall is fantastic. It took me a while to figure out how to fit everything back into the box, but once I did, it was easy and everything fit well. The game assembles very quickly, and as long as you "snap" the little plastic legs into the little plastic holes on the plastic gameboard, it holds together very well.

The game plays like classic Battleship...until one of the ships has all it's holes filled with red pegs. Then, the one who identified the ship gets to shoot marbles at it three times. A solid hit will knock the ship right out of the "water". It takes careful aim, but it is so much fun to look through the periscope and ZAP!!! shoot the enemy ship with a torpedo. The first hit scores the most points. The second and third hits score successively less points.
