My 6 year old boys received this for Christmas. We love playing board games as a family, but this one is a complete waste of time and money. We've played it once, and found it boring and unchallenging. I wish I could take this one back and purchase the classic Clue or even Clue Jr. With some help learning the directions, I think my boys could have played the older versions. I order and spent the money for this classic battleship so that my husband would play happily with my son. We already have the new battleship which is cheaply made and is readily available at Target for $15. I spent $25 plus $10 shipping to get the classic version pictured. Well it came today and it was the new cheap version. I did not order this so I called the number for the company listed above. Strange that they don't take phone calls only emails. I will not pay for the Classic Battleship that I didn't receive. If Amazon can't work it out I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company and already talked to them about it. Did not realize there is so many versions of Connect4. We have fun playing this and thinking for little ones is good. We have the 6+ version for our daughter...and so far pleased and having fun with it.

Our daughter is now to the age where we want to introduce her to all the old classic board games we enjoyed as kids. But as I'm sure you know, after years of use and abuse, the standard cardboard-boxed board games start to disintegrate and playing pieces begin disappearing. Not to mention, storing all those large and different-sized game boxes becomes a hassle.

Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when my daughter recently received two Hasbro Vintage board games for her birthday: "Monopoly" and "Clue."

For those of you old enough to remember the '3m Bookshelf' Games from the 1960's and 70's, Hasbro has taken the idea to a new level.
While the 3m Games (and other manufacturuers who followed in their shoes) were simply nicely-decorated cardboard boxes that could be stored on your bookshelves, the new Hasbro games are housed in sturdy wooden boxes that are designed to resemble leather-bound books. In fact, the Hasbro games look identical to my old collection of textbooks from lawschool - except for the words "monopoly" and "Clue" printed on their spine.

"Monopoly" contains all the playing pieces you're accustomed to (the money and property deeds are slightly smaller than in the classic version of the game), but the houses and hotels are made of solid wood rather than cheap plastic. The colors and finishes on the board, playing pieces, and printed stock gives the set an old-fashioned (dare I say 'vintage') feel.
"Clue" also has all the familiar playing pieces you've come to know, but in this case, everything appears to be the same size as in the classic version (as far as I can tell).

The only concern I have is regarding the construction of the playing boards. Due to the compact size of the 'faux-book' container, it was necessary for Hasbro to make the playing board fold multiple times in order to fit. This results in a single short, thin paper hinge that holds the two main portions of the board together when unfolded on the table. Care will need to be taken when handling the board to avoid tearing this hinge; it doesn't look like it will take much abuse.

But, all in all, these games are a great value for the money and they will make a very handsome addition to any formal library.

We've enjoyed Jenga for years - but always have had problems with the cardboard boxes after multiple moves (Army family) and just taking the pieces out to play and putting them back. I needed something for my son to balance on while trying to walk, so I purchased this. But with our house having all hardwood floors it wasnt a good idea. The wheeles do not roll on hardwood and he ended up falling alot. We got four guns for Christmas. My three year old and six year old love them...and us parents have fun too! This is a beautifully executed Monopoly game. The houses and hotels have been physically changed to be piers, casinos,restaurants and parks as you develop your properties on a tropical island. These are not houses and hotels that have been recolored and renamed. This game is different because it also uses a DVD to further the game. In all, a very nice set up, and a hard game to find in the stores. It is reasonably priced here on Amazon, and is a good game to add to your collection. Beware of Monopoly games that are marketed as "collector's editions, fully customized" when in fact, all that's changed are the property names, the money and six tokens. If the houses and hotels are not changed but just colored differently: that doesn't make it a fully customized game. Look for Indiana Jones Monopoly, Sephora, the Blue Boxed Looney Toons, Pirates of the Carribean (first issue)and Star Wars Clone Wars for fully changed games. Even Sponge Bob SquarePants rated a FC game!

Very impressed with the material and the reasonable compactness/lightness of the whole package. Although the tiles are a tad small, but not uncomfortable to use. The grid has ridges to lock the tiles in, so when you are on the go, you can pack the game and resume when you are at your next stop! My sibblings and me love this game and now we can play whenever we get together and that could be anywhere in the world. Family who play together stay together: so we love the game and couldnt be more pleased with the quality: durable.

This is the worst game I have ever bought. I will start by saying that I have always been a huge trivial pursuit fan. Every year at Christmas my family and I sit around in the evenings and play TP. After the last release of TP which I thought was an ingenious twist (having six different difficulty levels) I was excited to see what the makers of TP had come up with this year. What I found was a total rip off. The number one problem with this game is that it CAN ONLY BE PLAYED TWELVE TIMES PERIOD (unless you like asking the same question twice) and each game that you play is short we finished the whole game in 5 hours of play. The second problem is that the game is chalked full of errors. Including: the last supper was not painted by DaVinci (which it was) and that Bach was born in 1865 (actually 1685). The premise of this game is a good one, having several different types of questions but this was a poor execution. This is a clear example of what happens when a company tries to churn out new versions of a game each year to make a quick buck. Also the questions in this version are very easy. This new version is clearly aimed at bringing in the are you smarter than a fourth grader sect of America. Not what I had come to expect from Hasbro.

I am 33, and that is the age I first EVER played this game. I saw it for dirt cheap at Target ( $5 if that) and played it a few times with my child. I LOVE this game. I would not say it is educational, but it DOES require strategy, excellent kind, or someone can win all the too easily every time. I love this travel size enough to not miss the convention size, and when you are on the tightest budget, you go for what you can. You use the sides of the game to hold the checkers, and comes out real easy one the bottom of the sides. In fact, you keep the checkers there while you play, and easily take one out at a time, and store them there when you are done, and should not fall out at all!

I enjoy Scrabble very much, so I ran out and bought this game, thinking that since you can actually stack tiles to change the words, it must be even more fun than traditional Scrabble. Well, while it's OK in it's own right, it's a totally different game than Scrabble. I would suggest making a much more exciting and challenging version: stacking tiles WITH a larger board, more tiles, and bonuses (double/triple word and double/triple letter).
