This thing is like a missile launcher. My 10 month old seemed to like it, but the balls fly out of it several feet in the air and generally never make it back into the tray to reloop. We actually thought it was hilarious how the balls launch out of this thing, but as a toy for a baby, maybe not so funny. I can't imagine that the soft balls could hurt, but this toy just does not do what it is intended to do.
